THE J&A STORY

Meet John and Ashley, two lifelong adventurers with a passion for the great outdoors, all rooted in the beautiful Maryland Eastern Shore! They’re the proud parents of three amazing kids, doting grandparents to two little ones, and loving pet parents to their four-legged fur babies—who all share a love for fun in the sun and splashing around in the water. Inspired by their countless escapades, they adopted the hashtag #AdventuresofJ&A to capture their beach outings and boat trips. When there’s sun, sand, or water involved, Ashley is in her happy place!

 

As dedicated boaters, John and Ashley knew they wanted to spend more time on the water. With John nearing retirement from his law enforcement career, he figured—what better way to enjoy life than by sharing his love of boating with others? So, he rolled up his sleeves and embarked on the journey to obtain his captain's license with a towing endorsement. His mission? To make sure you have the best day ever on the water while also being there to lend a hand to fellow boaters in need.

 

And that’s how Adventures of J&A, LLC came to life! This part-time business allows them to combine their love for boating with unforgettable experiences for you. They explore the stunning Choptank River, visit charming local restaurants, and bask in the beauty of spectacular sunrises and sunsets. One of their favorite weekend rituals is cruising across the Chesapeake Bay to Solomon’s Island, where they kick back at “The Tiki Bar” for tasty food and lively entertainment.

 

So, grab your shades and get ready for an adventure! John and Ashley can’t wait to share the joy of the water with you!

CAPTAIN JOHN WELCH, III

John, a lifelong resident of Wicomico County on Maryland's Eastern Shore, is an avid boater and outdoorsman with over 30 years of experience on the water. He holds a USCG-issued OUPV license with a towing endorsement and is certified in First Aid and CPR. Having spent countless hours boating with family and friends, John is passionate about creating memorable experiences and would love to take you on your next adventure to make lasting memories with your loved ones.
